Are You Trying Out Light Therapy as a Treatment?

I posted several days ago here a comparison of laser light therapy with unfocused light therapy as treatments for Parkinson’s symptoms. The former requires involvement of a medical doctor. The later does not.

I know many of you are now pursuing one or the other therapy. Please. Send me reports on your experience using either one. Speaking for myself, I do not want to wait 10 years to see what the research says about light therapies. I want to know now.

As a researcher, I learned long ago that you can tell whether something works or not from even a small group of subjects. Let me know! This is not intended to be publishable research. There is no “sample” here. And there is nothing random about this.

But look. I do not care a flip. I have published a ton of studies that did not help anyone. The idea here is to help people get well now, not 10 years from now.

Home Run Today

I have been interviewing guests on Parkinsons Recovery Radio since 2008. Many have discussed nutrition and diet and offered one suggestion or another specific to treatment of Parkinson’s disease. As the title of this post declares, I hit a home run today.

Why? My guest was Warren Kramer who discussed macrobiotics as a natural treatment for Parkinson’s. He offered rich insights into the foods that cause neurological havoc and the foods that heal it.

I am well aware that no one can listen to all of my 240 radio show interviews, but this one is a must. Devote 45 previous minutes today to hear the interview posted here on the Radio Show page (click on the Radio Show Icon found down the right hand column).

I promise. You will not regret it!

Focused Versus Laser Light Therapies as Treatments for Parkinson’s

I recently aired fascinating interviews on Parkinsons Recovery Radio about two different types of phtobiomodulation therapies (light therapies) as treatments for Parkinson’s symptoms. I believe light therapies are the medicine of the future, so I am hopeful some of you will try one of these options out so we can get an early reading on their effectiveness.
The purpose of this newsletter is to explain the difference between the two devices. One is offered by Vielight https://www.Vielight.com (discussed in my radio show October 4th); the other is offered by Erchonia https://www.erchonia.com (discussed in my radio show October 16th).How are the Two Light Therapy Devices Similar?

• Both offer the possibility (but certainly not the assurance) of
therapeutic benefit.
• Both are light (or photobiomodulation) therapies
• Both report no side effects
• Both report little research evidence for Parkinson’s
(though what exists is encouraging) ‘
• Both report more positive research evidence for reversal of dementia.

How Do They Differ?

Vielight’s Photobiomodulation Therapy

Vielight’s device is a low level LED diffuse light device invented by natural medicine doctor and engineer Dr. Lew Lim. It involves placing a helmet type apparatus on the head and a clip on the nose. The diffuse nature of LED light makes it difficult for the light to penetrate the skin. This is why Dr. Lim had the brilliant idea of inventing a nose apparatus so that the light need not have to transit through the skin. The invention is only a year old.

Designed for home use, it requires no doctor’s involvement or prescription and involves pushing one button to turn it on. Dr. Lim recommends persons with Parkinson’s symptoms use the device while going to sleep each night for 20 minutes each night.

Retail cost of the device is $1749. The company offered members of
my audience a 10% discount. To claim the discount, enter the coupon code healing4me on the Vielight shopping cart check out and the 10% discount will automatically be applied. www.vielight.com
I
f you decide to try the Vielight light therapy, the company offers a generous warranty. Use it for 6 months. If it does not provide the benefit expected, you can return the used device to the company for an 80% refund.

Erchonia’s Photobiomodulation Therapy

The Erchonia device also delivers light (as does Vielight) but using a low level laser technology. In other words, light is focused and directed rather than being diffuse as with the Vielight device. It is a medical device intended for use by medical professionals to treat their patients.

There are 10 different settings to this laser therapy and many ways of using it to product the best outcome. The doctor may for, example, suggest that you tap certain acupuncture points on your face or perform certain movements with arms while device is activated and functional.

Unlike the Vielight device, you do not just switch it on and run the therapy. The doctor decides the appropriate settings to be used given your symptoms and situation.

To locate a doctor who has been trained to use the Erchonia laser therapy, visit the Erchonia website (www.erchonia.com) and search for a practitioner in your area.

If after getting a series of treatments you decide to purchase a unit for home use, the cost is $10,900. If you tell the Erchonia agent that you are a member of the Parkinsons Recovery audience, you will qualify for a 10% discount which at least puts the cost under $10,000. It is still expensive, so best to work with a doctor first to see if it will be of benefit.

Four Techniques That Always Reduce Anxiety

Over the past 12 years my research has focused on discovering therapies that reduce symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. One theme has emerged. Getting stress and anxiety under control is the key to quieting symptoms.

Medications and supplements certainly can help some people. However, they take time to work, require prescriptions from doctors, have side effects and cost money. The questions I have been pursuing this year have been:

  • How can you reduce anxiety and stress without having to pay a cent or visit a doctor’s office?
  • How can you get relief from symptoms without relying on medications or supplements?

I have digested the extensive research about anxiety and extracted four techniques that get anxiety and stress under control every time. Research shows they are highly successful. I have simplified the techniques so you can put them into action starting now. Researchers make them unnecessarily complicated.

Four Techniques Download

Click on the link below to download the 12 page booklet that explains the four techniques in detail

Four Simple Techniques that Reduce Stress

Bottom Line: The Four Techniques:

  • Are simple to implement
  • Can be accessed anywhere, anytime in any situation.
  • Are free
  • Reduce anxiety
  • Calm stress
  • Help reduce the severity of symptoms

When you are stressed, no additional “hit” of medication or natural dopamine supplement is needed. Use any one of these four techniques when anxious. Celebrate a quieting of your symptoms.

New Biophoton Therapy for Tremors

I believe that 20 years from now, people will look back on 2017 as an age of ancient medicine. Why might this be so? After all, for several hundred years, medicine has focused on suppressing symptoms using medicines and surgeries.

Fast forward 20 years (or even a few years). Light (and sound) will be the therapies of the future. Many researchers and inventors have focused their energies on both.

To this end, I have been diligently searching for new biophoton (or light) therapies that might just offer relief from tremors and other Parkinson’s symptoms. Finally – I was not going to give up the search – I discovered a new invention by an inventor in Toronto. It is only one year old. There are no studies using Parkinson’s patients (or any others for that matter).  But get this. I have heard from one person using it for only several weeks that it reduced his tremors.

This is my introduction to an interview that I will host on the radio show with the inventor next month. My intuition tells me this may be a way to suppress symptoms without incurring the side effects of the medicines.

I am excited about this one and suspect you will be too.

Marty Hinz Interview Rescheduled

Many of you have been eagerly waiting for my interview of Dr. Marty Hinz MD who uses amino acid therapy to address Parkinson’s symptoms. After years of recruiting Dr. Hinz to be a guest on the radio show, he agreed. Unfortunately, he owns a house in Florida which got clobbered by Irma this week.

I will eventually succeed in interviewing him, but he ask that we postpone the show for now.

Update on App for Jokes

  • Have you been visiting the jokes member website every day?
  • Have you found the jokes funny?
  • OK – probably not all of them, but have you at least been laughing at how I might have found the joke funny?
  • Have you been laughing out loud every day even if the joke is stupid?

Laughing you see is the entire point. The purpose of the jokes page is really not just to entertain and distract you, but to invite you to laugh out loud every day. When you do so, your body makes dopamine the natural way.

I had been trying all this month to learn how to program an app so I could send the jokes to your phones. Yes, I could learn how to program apps. Do I want to learn how? I honestly started, but decided to hire programming out. I really do not want to spend my time getting up to speed on apps programming. Contracting the job costs a small fortune, but I figured it will be worth it.

Look for my announcement sometime this month for the release of the new 5 cent jokes app. It is called that because I have set the cost at 5 cents a day. What a benefit indeed. Pay 5 cents and get an instant infusion of dopamine (as long as you laugh out loud).

Until the app release, please visit the jokes page here on the member websites every day. It is my invitation to you to laugh out loud. I suspect this is one natural way to reduce reliance on dopamine medicines and supplements.

I am also producing a short video that explains why laughing out loud is the best way to make dopamine – better than any other therapeutic option.

Power vs Force

Which is better –Power or Force — when it comes to healing the symptoms associated with a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease? David Hawkins suggests that activating your personal power is the key to healing disease and illness. Using force is likely to make them worse.

I just discovered his wonderful book titled Power vs Force this week by downloading a free copy from my local library.  I suggest you do the same! He has several sections in the book that I suspect you will find fascinating as did I.

Sleeping Issues?

There is a wonderful resource you can access to discover natural therapies that help improve sleep. It is known as the Chinese clock. Certain organs are more active at certain times of the night. One organ that is typically compromised for persons with Parkinson’s symptoms is the gall bladder. Here is the scoop on sleep problems that may be due to a gall bladder imbalance.

So, Is Insomnia a Big Issue for You?

Do you have difficulty getting to sleep until after midnight?  Healing will be obstructed if you have insomnia and are unable to get a good  nights sleep every night.  Many people with Parkinson’s symptoms report they seldom can get to sleep until after midnight or later.  What might be the cause of this?

The Chinese Medicine clock gives us a fascinating clue as to the cause. Gall bladder energy is strongest from 11 pm until 1 am.  If you have restrictions in your muscles and cramping throughout your body during the day and evening, gall bladder issues are likely to be the cause.  Why would the gall bladder be an issue for people with Parkinson’s symptoms?

The gall bladder is profoundly impacted by stress. Clearly, when stress has flared, symptoms will typically always worsen. Reduce stress. Your gall bladder will thank you. You will also find it easier to get to sleep at night. Easier said than done, right?

Acupuncturists offer a recommendation that may well help you out when you are having difficulty with stress during the day and getting to sleep at night. Massage the sides of your head where the gall bladder channel runs. More specifically, rub immediately above and behind the ears, followed up by squeezing the tops of your shoulders.

While acupuncture itself is not one of the top therapies that people find to be useful for calming their Parkinson’s symptoms, it is an excellent therapy for insomnia and depression, both of which can be significant impediments to recovery for persons diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

I frequent a community acupuncture clinic which offers treatments at a very affordable price. Such clinics are now popping up in many cities and countries. There is no longer a reason to let finances be a barrier to getting acupuncture treatments. It is well worth taking the time to explore this therapeutic option if you have difficulty sleeping at night.
